High School Civics Program

PMC hosted our inaugural high school internship program from June to July 2024. Through an experiential learning process, students learned about PA state and federal courts and legal processes from presentations and conversations with attorneys and judges. Students also had the opportunity to observe various proceedings in Pennsylvanian’s Superior Court, Philadelphia’s Municipal, Civil, Criminal and Family Courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Students learned about and observed Preliminary Arraignments and Early Bail Review Hearings in state court and were able to contrast them with similar proceedings in Federal Court. Students attended programs created by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvanian as well as by Philadelphia’s City Law Department. Information about the application process for Summer 2025 will be posted in December 2024.
