First Amendent CJE Courses

Through The Media, The Courts & Counsel™, PMC provides Continuing Judicial Education courses focused on First Amendment issues relevant to court proceedings.

Our first program was held in partnership with Penn Law. It was designed to provide judges with a better understanding of the right of the public and press to access court proceedings and judicial records. The program provided an overview of the constitutional and common law rights of access, as well as their application to different kinds of proceedings and records. The program included a panel discussion among judges, media professionals and First Amendment attorneys. We also recently held a program on Remote Court Proceedings & Public Access: Lessons Learned During the Pandemic.
