Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts Recognizes Retiring Board Members and Welcomes New Members
July 2, 2024 – At the recent board meeting for its fiscal year end, Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts recognized and presented proclamations expressing appreciation and gratitude to retiring board members ending their terms: Nicholas Chimicles, partner at Chimicles Schwartz Kriner; Ron Hicks, Partner, Nelson Mullins ; James Martin, Partner at Reed Smith; W. Thomas McGough, Jr., retired EVP, Chief Legal Officer, UPMC; Thuy Taitt, Assistant General Counsel at Air Products and Jeffrey Wiley, Partner at Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote. PMC’s CEO Deborah Gross noted, “We will sincerely miss the advice, dedication and support from these amazing board members who are rotating off. We know that they will always remain committed to PMC for which we are truly grateful.”
PMC also approved and welcomed several new board members, whose terms begin immediately:
Christopher Lee, the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Pittsburgh-based law firm, Dickie McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. In addition to an active law practice as Chair of the firm’s Food and Beverage Industry Group, he oversees the daily operations of the firm’s 200 lawyers across 20 offices in 11 states. “A fair and equitable judicial system is the cornerstone of a civilized society. It is truly an honor to serve Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts in its relentless efforts to achieve a judicial system that works for everyone. It is important work and I look forward to the opportunity.” said Chris Lee.
Ginevra Ventre, a partner at Reed Smith LLP, whose financial services litigation practice focuses on class and individual actions in the banking, consumer finance, employment, and investment management industries.
Kim Donaldson Smith, a partner at Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson LLP. Kim has been counseling clients and prosecuting cases on complex issues involving securities, business transactions and other class actions for over two decades. Kimberly concentrates her practice in sophisticated consumer and securities class action litigation in federal courts throughout the country. “I am honored to join PMC as a member of its Board of Directors. I look forward to contributing to the organization's crucial work in educating citizens about the Commonwealth’s judicial system and advocating for Pennsylvanians’ access to a fair and impartial judicial system.” said Kim Smith.
